Jastrzebska Spolka Weglowa is a listed Polish coking coal producer based in Jastrzębie-Zdrój in the Silesian Voivodeship .
The company's activities are divided into two sectors: coal , including the extraction and sale of hard coal ; and coke, including the production and sale of coke and coal derivatives. The company also deals with the extraction of natural gas and the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity. The company's products are sold domestically as well as in Germany , Austria , the Czech Republic , Slovakia , Romania and Hungary . The company operates five mines : Borynia-Zofiówka , Budryk , Jas-Mos, Krupiński and Pniówek . JSW Capital Group is a parent company of various corporations. The company is the largest producer of hard coking coal in the European Union and one of the leading producers of molten steel coke . Around 50 percent of the coking coal produced is processed in the Group's own coking plants .
In 2019, a total of 14.8 million tons of coal and 3.2 million tons of coke were produced in the JSW Group's plants. The group is one of the largest employers in Poland. At the end of 2019, it employed a total of 30,629 people, more than 22,000 of them in the Jastrzébska coal company itself.
The company's share has been traded on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 2011 and is included in its leading indices WIG20 and WIG30 .

Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa was founded in April 1993 as one of the seven coal companies operating at the time. It consisted of seven independent mining companies.
