Budimex is a Polish construction company based in Warsaw . The group of companies is active in general construction and civil engineering and is one of the largest construction companies in Poland. The company is a Polish joint-stock company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and the largest construction company in Poland.

history

The company was founded in 1968 and made investments in the Eastern Bloc and in some countries in Africa and Asia. A total of 75,000 contracts were signed in the first ten years. In 1971 the Dromex Transport Construction Industry was founded , which was active in the Middle East and built over 4,000 kilometers of roads in Libya, for example. Since 1982 Budimex built in activities in other European countries and worked a. a. with Mannesmann . In 1992 the company was privatized, in 1994 it was converted into a stock corporation and in 1995 it was listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. In 2000, the Spanish construction company Ferrovial entered as a strategic investor and took over the majority stake in Budimex. In 2002, numerous sole proprietorships with Budimex as part of their name, as well as Dromex and Mostostal Kraków SA, merged to form Budimex-Dromex SA , whose parent company and sole owner was Budimex. In 2009 the two joint stock companies Budimex SA and Budimex-Dromex SA merged again. This optimized the organizational structure and simplified the supervisory and administrative structures. In 2012 a new subsidiary FBSerwis SA was founded, which deals with the maintenance of the infrastructure and environmental services. In 2017 Budimex achieved record sales with a record profit and became the largest construction company in Poland. In 2018 the 50th anniversary was celebrated.
