The Largest Companies List in South Africa includes the largest publicly traded companies in South Africa published by Forbes Magazine on the Forbes Global 2000 list .

The ranking of the annual list of the 2000 largest publicly traded companies in the world is calculated from a combination of sales , net profit , assets and market value . The placements of the companies in the equally weighted categories were added together to form a rank. The table also shows the headquarters and the industry . The figures are in billion US dollars and relate to fiscal year 2009, for the market value to the market price on March 1, 2010.

The list also contains the largest listed companies in South Africa published by the business magazine “African Business” in the list “Africa's Top 200 companies” and relates to the stock exchange price on December 31, 2006.
