Aquarius Platinum is an Australian company headquartered in Bermuda .
The company was founded in 1920 as the Mount Monger Gold Mining Company and initially mined in the Kalgoorlie gold field . In 1984 the company was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange . In 1995, Gemex Exploration & Mining Company and Randex Platinum Holdings were acquired. In 1996 the mining company Pacific Platinum was bought, which took over the Kroondal mine . In 1998 the company went public on the London Stock Exchange .
The company focuses primarily on the production of platinum in Zimbabwe and South Africa ( Bushveld Complex ) and operates the South African mines Kroondal , Marikana , Everest and the Mimosa mine in Zimbabwe .
