The table contains the 50 largest European companies according to their turnover published by Fortune 2017 in the Fortune Global 500 list . Are also listed the headquarters , net income, number of employees and the industry . Figures are in billions of dollars and relate to fiscal 2016. Employee numbers relate to 2015.

Largest publicly traded company

The ranking of the annual Forbes Global 2000 list of the 2000 largest publicly traded companies in the world is calculated from a combination of sales , net income , assets and market value . The placements of the companies in the equally weighted categories were added together to form a rank. The table also shows the headquarters and the industry . The figures are in billion US dollars and relate to the 2017 financial year , for the market value to the stock exchange price in April 2018.

Ranks 282 and 296 were awarded twice in the Forbes Global 2000 list.
