Cinven is a UK private equity firm based in London.
history
Cinven was founded in 1977 and focuses on the acquisition and sale of European company investments. The company has offices in London, Paris, Frankfurt, Milan, Guernsey , Hong Kong, Luxembourg, Madrid and New York.
Cinven emerged from the British pension funds of British Coal , Railway Industries and Barclays Bank , the company's partners have remained.
In 2014 Cinven founded the joint venture Viridium with Hannover Re, based in Neu-Isenburg, for the acquisition and portfolio management of life insurance contracts from other insurance companies.
