Goodman Fielder Limited is an Australian publicly traded food company based in North Ryde (suburb of Sydney ). The main sales markets are in Australia and New Zealand . New Zealand is headquartered in Auckland . The company's shares are listed on the ASX and NZX . The company is the largest bread maker in Australia. The range also includes milk products , spreads , oils , salad dressings and various food ingredients. 28 branded articles are manufactured with over 2000 product lines. The products are sold in a total of 22 sales markets.

Company history

The company was founded in 1986 after "Allied Mills Ltd." and "Goodman Group Ltd." together had been. After this merger, thirteen other companies were added to the company. In 2003, the company's main competitor "Burns Philp" took over the company when it was about to go public . In the following years shares were increasingly sold again. In 2007 "Burns Philp" sold its remaining 20% ​​stake, so that Goodman Fielder was listed on the stock exchange again as an independent company. Some brands were sold to PepsiCo and Nestlé .

After Goodman Fielder had profitability problems for years, which is why some factories were sold or abandoned in order to focus more on core business areas, Goodman Fielder was sold to the Singaporean agricultural company Wilmar International and the Hong Kong-based investment company First Pacific (half of the largest Indonesian food company Indofood is involved). CEO Chris Delaney, formerly Asia Pacific President of Campbell Soup Company , who has been in office since July 2011 , resigned and was replaced by Scott Weitemeyer. In the future, sales in Asian markets are to be increased and, through cooperation with Indofood, their products are to be sold through Goodman Fielder in the Australian and New Zealand markets.

The company's brands are Cornwell's , Edmond , Quality Bakers , Champion , Irvines , Meadow Lea , Olivani , Diamond , White Wings , Praise , Ernest Adams , Top Hat , Tararua , Meadow Fresh , Puhoi Cheese , Kiwi Meats , Huttons , Holbrooks , Leaning Tower , La Famiglia and Vogel's (a bread based on a recipe by nutrition expert Alfred Vogel ).

The company exports numerous products to around 30 countries. Goodman Fielder is divided into four business areas, Home Ingredients , Baking , Dairy and Commercial Fats & Oils .
