PT. Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk. ( Indofood for short ) is an Indonesian food company with headquarters in Jakarta . It produces noodles, spices, dairy products, snacks, diet foods and the entire production chain for palm oil products, from cultivation to marketing.

history

A noodle manufacturing company was founded in 1968 and started producing instant noodles in 1972. The company name changes several times over the years. The company produced from August 14, 1990 to 1993 under the company name Panganjaya Intikusuma , before the company was renamed Indofood in 1994 . The company is part of the Salim Group . In 2004 Indofood had around 50,000 employees and was managed by Anthoni Salim, a member of the Indonesian entrepreneurial family Salim. In 2016 the company had an annual turnover of 66.75 trillion Indonesian rupiah IDR , corresponding to around 4.1 billion euros.

Palm oil

Indofood's palm oil-producing unit was banned from the RSPO (Roundtable of Sustainable Palm Oil) certification system in 2019 after failing to comply with an action plan to correct violations of the Code of Conduct in 2018.
