Fresnillo plc is a British subsidiary of the Mexican group Peñoles . Founded in May 2008 and listed on the London Stock Exchange and the Bolsa Mexicana de Valores . It is listed in the FTSE 100 .

The company operates in the mining industry. The company's three mines in Fresnillo in Zacatecas , Cienega in Durango and Herradura in Sonora produce predominantly silver and gold . Zinc and lead are produced as by-products . The corporate headquarters are in Mexico City and the company is registered in London .

Fresnillo is the world's largest silver producer and the second largest Mexican gold producer.
