Compass Group PLC is a listed catering and facility management company based in Chertsey / United Kingdom . With 4 billion meals produced annually, the group is the largest catering provider in the world. It offers its various services for private companies, hospitals or schools etc. and is represented in 50 countries.
The company was founded in 1941 as Factory Canteens Ltd. Founded and renamed Compass in 1987 , when the company's management bought the catering division of Grand Metropolitan (now Diageo ).
