Segro ( spelling SEGRO ; formerly Slough Estates ) is a listed industrial property group from Great Britain and the market-leading owner, manager and developer of modern logistics and commercial properties. Segro owns and manages over 6 million square meters of rental space with a value of 8.9 billion euros and is a service provider for customers from a wide variety of industries. The properties owned and managed by Segro are in close proximity to metropolitan areas and major transport hubs in the UK and nine other European countries.

history

The company was founded in 1920 by Percival Perry and Noel Mobbs with the aim of developing 200 hectares of land that is now the Slough Trading Estate. The company was originally called Slough Trading Company Ltd . In 1926 the company was to Slough Estates Ltd . renamed. In 2007, the company was converted into a British real estate investment trust (REIT) and the name was changed to Segro .

Today the Slough Trading Estate is the largest single business park in Europe. Over 400 companies in over 600 buildings with over 20,000 employees are located in this area. This industrial park was the first British company park.

Foreign activities

Segro has also been active in Germany since 1989 (Segro Germany GmbH). From three branches in Germany (Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Munich), Segro looks after over 40 locations in the metropolitan areas of the country and has almost 200 customers from production and logistics here.
