Igor Ozim

Igor Ozim (born May 9, 1931 in Ljubljana , Kingdom of Yugoslavia ) is a Slovenian - Austrian violinist .

Life

After studying at the Music Academy in Ljubljana, Ozim studied with Max Rostal in London . In 1951 he won the Carl Flesch Prize and in 1953 the ARD International Music Competition . This was followed by worldwide concert activities with the London Philharmonic Orchestra , the Warsaw Philharmonic and the Berlin Philharmonic, among others . Ozim taught as a professor at the Cologne University of Music , at the University of Music in Bern and at the Mozarteum in Salzburg . He gives master classes worldwide and is a member of the jury of important competitions such as the International Max Rostal Competition and the International Violin Competition Henri Marteau .
