The Compass Group Germany is a provider of catering , food services and " facility management " in Germany. The company, which was founded in 1995 as the German branch of the British Compass Group PLC , employed around 15,000 people in 2016, most of them part-time. According to their own information, half of the Dax 30 companies are customers. In the 2015/2016 financial year, Compass Group Deutschland GmbH achieved sales of around 666 million euros, and Jürgen Thamm has been Chairman of the Management Board since 2007.

history

The company was founded in 2000 with the strategic partnership with Levy Restaurants. In 2007, the “Scolarest” brand was launched on the German market for school catering. In 2008 the CCS Clinic Catering Service GmbH & Co OHG and Medirest Deutschland GmbH merged under the umbrella brand Medirest GmbH & Co OHG; Foundation of the German coffee bar Caffè Dallucci; Establishment of the Facility Support Services division Eurest Services.

Compass Group takes over LPS Event Catering in 2007 to expand the event catering business. The Bremen menu delivery service Menke Menue was taken over in 2010.
