Victor von Dantscher

Victor von Dantscher (complete: Victor Dantscher Ritter von Kollesberg; born October 29, 1847 in Innsbruck , † July 26, 1921 in Graz ) was an Austrian mathematician .

Victor von Dantscher came from the family of the professor of anatomy at the University of Innsbruck, Dr. Karl Dantscher (1813–1887), who was awarded the Order of the Iron Crown III. Class in 1876 ​​with the predicate "von Kollesberg" had been raised to the Austrian knighthood.

Victor von Dantscher studied mathematics from 1866 to 1872 at the universities of Innsbruck, Vienna and Munich. He was a full professor of mathematics at the University of Graz .

On February 26, 1895 he was elected a member of the Leopoldina . He was a full member of the Natural Science Association for Styria and the Natural Science-Medical Association in Innsbruck.
