The Židinio adult high school Vilnius (lit. VšĮ Vilniaus "Židinio” suaugusiųjų gimnazija ) is a state general high school in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius , where adult education is offered. The high school also teaches the hearing impaired and visually impaired . history

From 1945 the school was the second adult high school in Vilnius and from 1949 to 1951 the first adult middle school there. It was bilingual (Lithuanian and Russian ). The students were the workers of the large industrial plants in Vilnius. In 1951 the school became the sixth working youth school and in 1965 the sixth shift evening middle school . From 1979 to 1987 only Russian was taught. There was a distance education department . In 1987 the first evening school in Lithuanian was added. Since 1989 only Lithuanian has been taught. The Russian-speaking classes were set up in other schools in the capital.

From 1989 to 1991 the school was the sixth adult middle school in Vilnius and from 1998 Židinio adult middle school in Vilnius. There were two shifts. Students were admitted from the age of 18. Later education for the disabled was also made possible . In 2006/2007 there were 600 students in 25 classes. In 2010, secondary education was accredited by the Ministry of Education of Lithuania . From 2010 to 2011 the school was renovated from EU funds according to the 2007-2013 program. Based on the decision of May 4, 2011 by the Vilnius Municipality Council , it became an adult high school.
