The Bolsa Mexicana de Valores ( BMV ; German " Mexican Stock Exchange ") is the only stock exchange in Mexico . Its headquarters are on Paseo de la Reforma in central Mexico City .
The market capitalization of all companies listed the stock market was in August 2017 463 billion dollars making it the second largest stock exchange in Latin America by market capitalization.

The Mexican stock exchange operates under the legal form of a Sociedad Anónima Bursátil de Capital Variable (SAB de CV) . Literally translated, this corresponds to an anonymous stock exchange company with variable capital and practically the legal form of a stock corporation .
Exchange supervision
Exchange trading on the BMV is subject to the Mexican stock exchange law Ley Reglamentaria de Bolsas of 1975.
The supervisory authority for the Mexican banks and the stock exchange is the Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores .
history
The origins of the Mexican Stock Exchange go back to 1886 when the Bolsa Mercantil de México was founded in Mexico City . Another step was taken in 1908 with the establishment of the Bolsa de Valores de México .
Today's BMV was founded in 1933 and received its current name in 1975 when the Guadalajara and Monterrey stock exchanges were integrated.
