Banco Bradesco SA (Abbreviation of Banco Brasileiro de Descontos ) is a financial company from Brazil with headquarters in Osasco . The company is listed in the IBOVESPA financial index . The bank is one of the four largest banks in the country, including Banco do Brasil , Banco Itaú and Unibanco .

Bradesco is the largest private bank in Brazil and had 4,634 Brazilian bank branches in 2012.

The company provides internet banking, insurance, credit card services, loans, and similar financial services.

Internationally, Banco Bradesco operates bank branches in New York City, Grand Cayman and Nassau as well as branches in Nassau, Luxembourg, Buenos Aires, Grand Cayman and Tokyo.

Banco Bradesco has taken over the companies Banco do Estado do Maranhão, Banco Mercantil de São Paulo and the Brazilian business activities of the financial companies Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) and JP Morgan Fleming Asset Management.

Through its subsidiary Bradespar , Bradesco holds shares in the mining company Companhia Vale do Rio Doce ; it also holds shares in the energy company CPFL Energia .

In 2009, Bradesco opened a branch on a river boat in order to be able to reach customers in geographically remote regions. Mainly current accounts and consumer loans are offered. Every two months, 11 cities and 50 municipalities between the cities of Manaus and Tabatinga are served. The tour is 1,600 km long and takes seven days.
