YDUQS is a Brazilian publicly traded holding company based in Rio de Janeiro with a focus on higher education. In 2018 it was the second largest higher education company in Brazil after Kroton Educacional . YDUQS has 119 departments, 700,000 students, including 5,000 in medicine, 15 brands and 1,100 digital learning centers. Its old name, Estácio, comes from the Portuguese knight and military officer Estácio de Sá, founder of the city of Rio de Janeiro. YDUQS-owned Estácio de Sá University is the second largest university in Brazil with more than 311,900 students in 57 locations across the country, 39 of which are in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
In 2019, YDUQS announced the acquisition of Centro Universitário Toledo (Unitoledo in Araçatuba-SP), which will become the Group's premium teaching brand. In the same year the institution also acquired Faculdade Ibmec, Wyden Educacional and Damásio Educacional.
On June 4, 2020, the Grupo Athenas Educacional was acquired.
