Lojas Renner (Portuguese for Renner Shops) is the largest Brazilian retail clothing company based in Porto Alegre - Rio Grande do Sul , Brazil . It was the first Brazilian company that traded 100% on the stock exchange. It was listed on Novo Mercado, the highest ranking segment on the São Paulo Stock Exchange. The main competitors are C&A , Zara , Forever 21 and Cia. Herring .
history
The company was founded in 1912 by Anthony Jacob Renner under the name AJ Renner . The company sold pure wool clothing and specifically men's clothing suitable for both cowboys and the "man in town".
Lojas Renner's first sales point was founded in 1922. In the 1940s it became a department store with a wider range. Renner SA was founded in 1965. The company went public two years later. In 1991 Lojas Renner became a department store group specializing in fashion.
On December 22, 1998, he was bought by the American company JC Penney, which owned 97.7% of the shares.
In June 2005, JC Penney sold his stake, Renner shares were then traded on the Bovespa .
Shops
Today Lojas Renner is the largest Brazilian retail chain for clothing with 530 branches, 338 of which operate under the Renner name , 101 under Camicado and 92 under Youcom . You can find them in shopping malls all over Brazil. The company also has branches in Uruguay.
