Forever 21 is an American chain of clothing stores . Clothing and accessories for young men, women and teenagers are offered there. Forever 21 has offices in most major cities in America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The company filed for bankruptcy on September 30, 2019.

The chain was formerly called Fashion21 and was intended more for children and young people. The first store was opened on April 21, 1984 in Los Angeles by Do Won Chang and his wife Jin Sook Chang. In the summer of 2017, the company was active with over 700 branches in more than 50 countries. As early as August 2019, various media reported that the company was preparing for a possible bankruptcy. Following bankruptcy in September 2019, the company announced that it would close up to 178 stores in the United States and give up international locations in Europe and Asia.

The Forever 21 retail company is represented in 57 states and operated 815 shops in various formats at the time of filing for bankruptcy in September 2019. Store formats were Forever21, XXI Forever and Heritage 1981. There are also many brands that have sprung up in stores, such as Forever21 +, Love21, Forever21 girls and 21men. The clothing is based on Korean, European and American fashion trends.

Forever 21 operates a total of 17 branches in Europe in Germany , France , Italy , Poland , the Netherlands , Romania , Spain , the Czech Republic , the United Kingdom and Cyprus . The German branch is located in Berlin .
