Fibria is a Brazilian company with headquarters in São Paulo .

The company is active in paper production . Fibria is managed by Marcelo Strufaldi Castelli. The company was created in 2009 from a merger of the companies Votorantim Celulose e Papel (former subsidiary of Grupo Votorantim ) and Aracruz . Around 18,300 people are employed at Fibria.

Fibria is the world's largest producer of pulp from eucalyptus . This is generated from plantations .

With more than 18,300 employees in five countries, Fibria has an annual pulp production capacity of 7.25 million tons. In Brazil, its plants are located in Aracruz (state of Espírito Santo ), Jacareí (state of São Paulo ), Três Lagoas (state of Mato Grosso do Sul ) and Eunápolis (state of Bahia ), the latter as a partner in Veracel , a joint venture with the Swedish paper company Stora Enso . In the Barra do Riacho district of Aracruz, the company, in collaboration with Cenibra Portocel, operates the only Brazilian port specializing in the production of pulp, with an annual handling capacity of 7.5 million tons. Fibrias pulp is exported to 35 countries.

Its forestry activities are based on renewable forests and cover 1,092 million hectares, of which 374,000 are for environmental protection, 656,000 for the planting of eucalyptus forests and 61,000 for other purposes.

In Canada , Fibria operates the Fibria Innovations research center, which studies lignin applications , and has an 8.3% stake in CelluForce , the world's leading manufacturer of nanocrystalline cellulose.

In the US , the company is investing in bio-based renewable fuels in a partnership with Ensyn Corporation , in which it has a 12.1% stake.

In Finland , Fibria acquired an 18% stake in Spinnova , a start-up that uses wood fiber to develop environmentally friendly technologies to produce yarns and threads that can replace cotton, viscose and other raw materials for the textile industry.
