Ambev ( American Beverage Company = American beverage company ; also AmBev ) is the largest beverage company in Latin America and a subsidiary of the Belgian Anheuser-Busch Inbev .

AmBev was formed in 1999 through the merger of the breweries Cervejaria Brahma and Companhia Antarctica .

In 2004, AmBev and Interbrew from Belgium merged to form the Inbev group . In November 2008, it merged with Anheuser-Busch to form the Anheuser-Busch InBev group. In addition to Beck’s and Stella Artois from Interbrew, the AmBev beer brand Brahma is one of the world's brands.

AmBev is also a manufacturer of soft drinks. It holds the distribution rights for the Brazilian market to numerous PepsiCo brands (e.g. Pepsi and Gatorade ) and is the market leader for Guaraná .
