The Banco Davivienda SA ( German  literally translated "Bank gives living space" ) is the third largest bank in Colombia and part of the international Grupo Bolivar . It was founded in 1972 in Bogotá and has offices in Panama , Costa Rica , Honduras , El Salvador and Miami in the USA .

Corporate development

At the beginning of its business activity, the bank initially concentrated on housing construction financing; later retail banking, corporate banking and SME banking were added. The company offers savings accounts, certificates of deposit and bonds. Their loan portfolio consists of lease and mortgage loans, consumer loans, car loans, credit cards (exclusive to Diners in Colombia) and other personal loans.

The bank provides services to individuals, businesses and the rural sector. Banco Davivienda has around 10.3 million customers who can rely on 725 branches, over 2,000 Daviplata service points and around 2,621 ATMs at regional level in Colombia and internationally.

Banco Davivienda has become one of the most popular brands remembered by Colombians. The Casita Roja (“Red House”) has existed as a fun logo and trademark of the bank since 1973 . Over the years it has become a part of the daily life of many Colombians because the bank is recognized nationwide as innovative and solid. The development of the advertising concept “en estos momentos su dinero puede estar en el lugar equivocado”, which means “at the moment your money could be in the wrong place”, earned awards and recognitions and was one of the most successful advertising campaigns in Colombia.

Its subsidiaries include the financial services provider Confinanciera SA and the securities trading company Davivalores. At the end of 2012, the bank acquired HSBC subsidiaries in El Salvador ( HSBC El Salvador ), Costa Rica and Honduras for $ 801 million.
