Bernd Hübner (born May 31, 1947 in Berlin-Neukölln ) is a German former track and field athlete, marathon runner and German runner-up in the lightweight rowing eight.

In 1962, Bernd Hübner began an apprenticeship as a telecommunications technician at the Deutsche Bundespost . When the telecommunications school was looking for young people to join its rowing team, he became a member of the voluntary school sports community and laid the foundation for his sporting activities there. In 1970 he won the German vice championship title in lightweight - eighth of the Berlin rowing club from 1876 . Later, as a successful rower, he repeatedly achieved top positions in rowing regattas in the lightweight foursome and eighth of the Berlin Rowing Club as well as in a racing community with the Brandenburgia rowing club .

Marathon run

Bernd Huebner's running career began when he switched to SC Charlottenburg. Since then he has completed 103 marathons at home and abroad, including four times in Boston, three times in Honolulu, twice in New York City and in Rio de Janeiro, Miami, Los Angeles, Stockholm, Paris, Athens, Budapest, Vienna and London entered the field of competitive sports with multiple times under 2:30:00.

In May 1983, the amateur athlete crossed the finish line as the marathon winner in Berlin-Spandau. As a running supervisor, Bernd Huebner advocates numerous running offers for shared experiences, for tolerance and fairness. A large community grew out of the handful of runners in the first few years: up to 1,068 runners took part in the cult runs organized as part of his running meeting. The Internet portal www.lauftreffberlin.de (www.laufsportberlin.de, which he opened in December 2004 and is now personally supervised), is one of the largest private running forums in Germany today.
