Comité de Familiares de Detenidos Desaparecidos en Honduras

The Comité de Familiares de Detenidos Desaparecidos en Honduras ( COFADEH for short and Spanish for Committee of Family Members of the Arrested Disappeared in Honduras ) is a human rights organization from Honduras . It was founded in 1982 by Berta Oliva , who is also the chair, and several other relatives of the disappeared and is headquartered in Tegucigalpa .

The purpose of the organization is to provide assistance to people who were abducted by security forces in Honduras and their families.

The organization has been the target of attacks several times. Tear gas was used on the office and death threats were sent. Sometimes members had to hide.
