The Commission de recherche et d'information indépendantes sur la radioactivité Association Française ( CRIIRAD ) - in English: French Commission for Independent Research and Information on Radioactivity - is a French radiation research institute based in Valence in the south of France.

history

The commission was set up in May 1986 by Michèle Rivasi in the aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster . The commission has become known, among other things, through its activities since 2003 in connection with the controversial (medical) procedure of the AREVA group in uranium ore mining in Niger Rivasi was replaced as chairman in 1997 by Roland Desbordes.
