The magazine has been published monthly since November 1998 and reports on topics related to the automation pyramid in the manufacturing and process industries. The subject area is covered from the higher-level production level through the control level to sensors and actuators at the field level.

In every second issue, the “Process + Hybrid” booklet supplements the reporting on process technology. The magazine is not available in free trade; it is distributed by subscription.

Around 10,000 companies and around 800 product categories are listed in a supplier directory. The lexicon comprises around 26,000 technical terms and abbreviations from electronics, information technology, physics, logistics, business administration, corporate management or finance, and media technology.
