In retail, the term concept store refers to a shop with an unusual, mostly high-quality combination of product ranges and brands . Concept stores represent a modern view of eventful shopping and customer loyalty . A concept store is a conceptual mixture of department store and boutique .

Alignment

In contrast to specialty stores or department stores, the focus is on a specifically defined target group , e.g. B. luxury, design, sport or craft-loving customer groups. For them, there should be everything in a concept store that customers like to surround and identify with. A typical product and brand mix in a concept store consists of fashion, shoes, (living) accessories, books / CDs, cosmetics, food, toys and everyday items. Concept stores do not have a wide and deep product range; the selection of products is mostly limited to individual items that are presented in a mixed manner according to the cross-selling principle.

Some concept stores change their appearance and their range at regular intervals in order to remain flexible and surprising. Related retail concepts are pop-up shops and guerrilla stores.
