Connectors

9 10 are suited connectors

In the card game of poker , the term connectors means that a player's hole cards are in value immediately next to each other. The advantage of connectors is that there is an increased chance of a straight . Cards that are no more than three cards apart in value can also become a flopped straight. These cards are then called one-gap connector or two-gap connector etc. ( gap : English for gap , since there is a gap of one or two cards between the cards).

Example: 4 5 or 4 8 can possibly form the straight 4-5-6-7-8 with the appropriate community cards.

If connectors are of the same color , they are called suited connectors .

Example: With J Q the chance of getting a straight flush is much higher.
