A Conti (more rarely also Konti ) is a beverage container for beer made from cardboard that has been offered regionally in eastern Lower Saxony by the Wolters Brewery since April 2014 . Today it contains eight returnable Steinie-shaped bottles . The closed packaging and its presentation are based on a shipping container .

Today's Conti goes back to a beverage battery that was offered by several breweries, including Wolters and Feldschlößchen , in Lower Saxony and Westphalia until the late 1990s .

At that time, the carrier was open at the side and looked nothing like a shipping container. The container consisted of ten single-use bottles with crown caps . Although these bottles had a volume of 0.33 l, they were simpler, narrower and lighter than the usual Steinie shape. Because of the lack of deposit at the time , the Conti was very popular in the region, especially when enjoying beer outdoors. The linguistic origin of the originally colloquial name Conti for the product at the time has not been clarified.
