The Convento de Santos-o-Novo is a former monastery of the Order of Santiago in Lisbon .

It was built in the 17th century. During the 1755 earthquake , it was partially destroyed and then rebuilt. After the abolition of the religious orders in 1834, the members of the order remained in the building until the proclamation of the First Republic . Then the Escola Primária Superior de D. António da Costa moved into the second floor, later the Instituto Sidónio Pais moved in .
