Coppo (unit)

The coppo (Pl. Coppi), meaning jug, was an Italian measure of volume in the Duchy of Lucca . As a measure of liquid Coppo di lucca it had two sizes in the oil trade.

  • 1.Size: 1 coppo = 5034 Parisian cubic inches = 99 ¾ liters (99.81 liters)
  • 2. Size: 1 coppo = 6170 Parisian cubic inches = 122 ¼ liters

A division into half-coppo or double-coppo was possible.

Had when selling by weight

  • 1 Coppo = 264 pounds = 88.308 kilograms = 24 Libbre grosso / Peso grosso
  • 1 pound = 334.5 grams
