Cordonazo

With cordonazo wind (also English Lash of St. Francis , whip of St. Francis') are to tropical cyclones in the southeastern North Pacific contiguous Hurricane -Winde at the Mexican called West Coast. These can occur from May to November, but occur more frequently around October 4th, the name day of St. Francis .

The name Cordonazo is derived from the Spanish noun cordon 'rope'. The ending -azo is a reinforcement, so the name means 'long rope' and describes the cloud formation, which looks like a rope swirled in a circle.
