Corinth Morter Lewis

Corinth Morter Lewis is a university professor at the University of Belize in Belize , Central America .

In 2003 she became interim president of the university and was officially sworn in as the second president in 2004. Lewis graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Educational Psychology. She began her professional career at Belize Technical College and then taught at the Belize College of Arts, Science & Technology , University College , and Belize Teachers' College before joining the University of Belize. She then worked as a consultant for the Belize Ministry of Education and became chair of the National Arts Council in Belize.

Since 2005 she has also been a member of the governing council of the International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (IESALC), an organization of UNESCO .
