Cornelius Cossus

Cornelius Cossus was the name of several politicians of the early Roman Republic.

The Cognomen Cossus is perhaps of Etruscan origin and originally served as a prenomen . It is the nickname of one of the oldest branches of the Cornelier , which grew up in the 5th century BC. BC branched off from the main family. The meaning "wood worm" assumed by linguists is uncertain.
