Cornelius Dolabella (confidante of Augustus)
Cornelius Dolabella was a close confidante of Octavian, the later Roman emperor Augustus . It is very likely that he is the suffect consul of the year 35 BC named in an inscription . BC, Publius Dolabella . Since he had good contacts with Cleopatra , he was in the year 30 BC. Active as a mediator between her and Augustus. Cleopatra learned from him that Octavian was to take it with him as booty during his triumphal procession in Rome . She then decided to commit suicide. He is probably identical with the confidante of Augustus mentioned in Quintilian . His son was the consul of the year 10, Publius Cornelius Dolabella .
