Cosijn von Ripperda (actually: von Ripperda-Cosyn) is the name of the youngest branch of the baronial family von Ripperda . Ancestors of this line are among the last members of this ancient, German-Danish-Dutch family.

coat of arms

The coat of arms of Cosijn von Ripperda is quartered. Fields one and four show a golden rider in armor (Ripperda) in black, fields two and three each in blue three (two, one) silver birds (Cosijn). The coat of arms has two helmets: on the bulged right one two silver eagle wings, on the crowned one on the left a golden, growing winged dragon sticking out an arrow-shaped tongue.

history

The Cosijn von Ripperda line was founded on the third son of the von Ripperda zu Ellerburg family, Georg Wilhelm Unico, Imperial Baron von Ripperda (1784–1812). He married (1810) Johanna Cosijn, a Dutch descendant of the Huguenot cousin from Lyon .
