Coupling facility

The Coupling Facility ( CF ) is a hardware component of IBM - mainframes . It has the task of giving all processors access to the same data and is also responsible for flexible load distribution and scaling . The CF takes on the tasks of locking , caching , queuing and updating . It is controlled via the so-called CFCC (Coupling Facility Control Code).
