Coustellet is a village in Provence in France . It belongs to the municipality of Maubec in the Vaucluse department in the region of Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur .

geography

Coustellet is located at the foot of the Luberon , in the Calavon Valley , about 10 km southwest of the municipality of Gordes , in the center of the Luberon Regional Nature Park .

history

Archaeological excavations have found graves, pottery and flint in Coustellet, proving that the area was inhabited in prehistoric times.

Attractions

  • From April to November every Sunday and in July and August also every Wednesday evening, the Marché Paysan , a farmers' market with products from the region, takes place in Coustellet .
  • At Easter, a flea market attracts visitors from the area to Coustellet.
  • The Musée de la Lavande ( Lavender Museum), founded in 1991, shows the importance of lavender in the cultural history of Provence.
