Cowbridge and Aberthaw Railway

The Cowbridge and Aberthaw Railway was a British railway company based in south Wales .

The company received on August 12, 1889 the right to build a 10 kilometer stretch from Cowbridge south to Aberthaw . In Cowbridge there was a connection to the Cowbridge Railway and in Aberthaw to the Vale of Glamorgan Railway .

The line was opened on October 1, 1892 and the Taff Vale Railway took over the company on August 17, 1894. Passenger traffic was discontinued on May 4, 1926 and was then carried out again from July 11, 1927 to May 5, 1930. Freight traffic was stopped on November 1, 1932, but the route remained in tact until 1947.
