Cretonne

In Cretonne is coarser linen weave cotton base fabric with dull appearance and a relatively hard handle, which among other things is used as a basic commodity.

Raw, bleached, dyed or printed, this material can be used in many ways. B. for furniture covers or heavy curtains use.

The cretonne was invented by Paul Creton , in Vimoutiers in the Pays d'Auge , Normandy, France; a place that has been very active in the textile industry over the past centuries.
