A Cristal Baschet

A Cristal Baschet is a musical instrument made of glass and metal and goes back to the principles of the euphon and similar friction idiophone designed by Ernst Florens Friedrich Chladni in 1789 .

The Cristal Baschet was rediscovered and rebuilt in 1952 by Bernard (1917–2015) and François Baschet (1920–2014). Glass rods are rubbed with wet fingers like the glass bowls or bells of the glass harmonica and transmit their vibration to the metal.
