Cristina Gutiérrez-Cortines Corral

Cristina Gutiérrez-Cortines Corral (born December 17, 1939 in Madrid ) is a Spanish politician of the Partido Popular .

Gutiérrez-Cortines is a PhD professor of art history. She is active in research in the fields of art, architecture, urban planning and urban history, as well as in the testing of new technologies in art history. From 1978 to 1993 she was director of a department at the University of Murcia , from 1989 to 1995 director of the feature pages of La Verdad magazine . Later she was an advisor on education and culture for the government of the Murcia region and led a course on sustainable development and conservation of the historical and natural heritage of the Botín Foundation. She has been a member of the European Parliament since 1999 .
