The Cruchley Piedmont Glacier is a 1.5 km wide foreland glacier in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It is 4 km north of the John Peaks on the eastern edge of Powell Island and borders the range of hills that runs through the island from north to south.
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named him on February 15, 1987 with the intention of preserving the designation of Powell Island as Cruchley's Island made by the British navigator James Weddell . Weddell's namesake is thought to be the British cartographer George Frederick Cruchley (1796–1880).
