Cuan Baozi Stele

The Cuan Baozi stele ( Chinese  爨 寶 子 碑  /  爨 宝 子 碑 , Pinyin Cuàn Bǎozǐ bēi , English stele of Cuan Baozi ) was built in the 43rd year (1778) of the Qianlong reign of the Qing dynasty in the village of Yangqitian, Qujing , Yunnan Province , China , excavated.

It is a sandstone stele from the Eastern Jin period . The inscription consists of 400 characters and consists of 13 columns of 7 to 30 characters in regular script ( zhengshu ). The stele was erected in 405 and is an important find in the history of Chinese calligraphy.

Cuan Baozi ( 爨 宝 子 ) was a senior official in Yunnan Province and the stele was on his grave.

Since 1961, the stele has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China in Yunnan (1–126).
