Cunningham (constituency)

Cunningham is one of 150 constituencies used to elect the Australian House of Representatives . It lies between the cities of Sydney and Wollongong in the state of New South Wales . The constituency includes both districts of Sydney ( Heathcote , Bundeena ) and districts of Wollongong ( Corrimal , Figtree and Unanderra ).

It was named after the Australian botanist and explorer Allan Cunningham and was created in 1949. Since 2004, Sharon Bird of the Australian Labor Party has been the current constituency MP.
