Curcuperin is a marketing term that is composed of components of the words curcumin and piperine and is used as a dietary supplement .

Curcuperin names mixtures of substances with different compositions from these two ingredients in a mixing ratio that is considered useful as a dietary supplement. Curcumin as a turmeric extract or synthetically produced is the actual active ingredient in most areas of application. Piperine as an extract from black pepper or also from synthetic production increases the absorption of curcumin in the intestine . The typical piperine content is on the order of 1% to 3%.

The combination of curcumin and piperine is being investigated in relation to the treatment of malaria (in combination with artemisinin ) and to inhibit the production of certain inflammatory messengers in a high-fat diet. Curcumin and piperine can inhibit various detoxification enzymes in the liver, but they do not lead to an altered metabolism of midazolam , flurbiprofen and paracetamol .
