Cuti

Cuti (actually Luiz Silva ; * 1951 in Ourinhos , State of São Paulo ) is a Brazilian writer.

He studied Romance studies and literature at the University of São Paulo ; Magister (UniCamp, 1999) and PhD (2005) in literary studies. Founding member of the Cadernos Negros (1978) and the Quilombhoje group (1980). He is one of the most active and prolific Brazilian black poets. Cuti often gives lectures in academic and cultural institutions in Brazil; He made numerous trips, also abroad (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, USA), to lectures and readings of his works and the works of other black writers.
