The Cuvier Island ( French Île Cuvier ) is a 165 m long rocky island off the coast of the East Antarctic Adélieland . It is located 310 m north of the western part of the Pétrel Island in the Géologie archipelago .
French scientists mapped it in 1951 during a research trip that lasted from 1949 to 1951 and named it after the French naturalist Georges Cuvier (1769-1832).
