The D'Urville Sea (also known as Dumont-d'Urville Lake ) is a section of the Southern Ocean . It is mainly located off the coast of the East Antarctic Adélieland . To the east the D'Urville-See borders directly on the Somow-See , to the west indirectly on the Mawsonsee .

The Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson named it in 1912 as part of the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914) after the French polar explorer Jules Dumont d'Urville (1790-1842).
